I need some information on how to respec a character's stats using the save wizard. I know how edit gems, but I have scoured through the forums to find out how to do this but have not been able to find out how to change my character's stats around. But say my stats are 50vit 15end 25str 50skill 10bt 20arc and i want to change them to 60/10/25/50/5/15 or something like that, how would i go about doing that correctly within the editor. I heard that I have to change the stats and change another value within the editor for it to be changed correctly? If that is true, could someone please point me in the right direction to do so?

Can y'all stop clogging this thread with general questions not related to blood gem modding? There's a handy dandy thread made for general questions here: viewtopic.php?f=116&t=995&p=10980

So, I've had some adventures trying to start a character with editted-in Beast Claws and Beast's Embrace, and I have some info to add to your OP (unless you'd rather make a separate thread for Caryll runes).

First, definition: when I say "word" I'm referring to the groups of 4 bytes because...well, the CS definition of "word".

Second, correction: the third word of a gem is not quantity, as you state in the OP. For gems the third word is always 01 00 00 00, but for Caryll runes it's always 02 00 00 00. That's important if, like I was, you're trying to transform a gem into a rune.

Third, the fourth word of a Caryll rune also gives it's "shape." When you look at a rune in your inventory, it has a "type" which can be either "-" for normal runes (Lake, Formless Oedon, etc) or "Oath" for covenant runes (like Impurity, Beast's Embrace, Milkweed, etc). In my experience, if you try to change the effect of a normal rune to that of a Beast's Embrace rune, the Rune winds up labelled "Lake" unless you change the fourth word

Finally, the effects on Milkweed and Beast's Embrace are weird. If you create a BE rune with the main effect alone--81 78 20 00--the rune WILL transform your character model and WILL give a +15 bonus to beasthood while equipped, but WILL NOT change any of your animations nor will it change your move-set when you have the Beast Claw equipped. In order to get the full BE change to animations and move-set, you have to add 5 effects to the rune: 81 78 20 00 / 82 78 20 00 / 83 78 20 00 / 84 78 20 00 / 85 78 20 00. The Milkweed rune is similar for the Kos Parasite, though you only need 3 effects instead of 5. Adding 69 7C 20 00 / 6A 7C 20 00 / 6B 7C 20 00 is what it takes to get full use out of Milkweed.

I'm just gonna copy/paste this since I'm too lazy for anything else. Thanks.

Heya. Trying to get guidance 3 by placing it in the slot of a blood gem. I can't seem to locate my gem id.
Got red blood gem from the brooch, got bloodtinge 1.8% gem from old yharnam, got phys atk up 0.7% gem from a random drop, but I have NO idea how to find any of this.

I figured it would be a simple task to get guidance 3 afterwards. If gems and runes are interchangeable, then I would be able to change a gem's ID to guidance 3, and its location to oedon writhe 3(using oedon writhe as an already-obtained rune).
I know you previously put how to convert a guidance 1 to guidance 3, but I was hoping to go ahead and grab guidance 3 now, just to get it out of the way. Also thank you for your research, it's a big help.

I usually replace Guidance 1 from NG+ with a level 3 variation (I do keep Guidance 1 from NG). But maybe you wanna stay in NG, then I can't help cause I didn't try to convert gems to runes.

I'm trying to convert the radial gem from the Executioner at the start of the game into the Milkweed rune. Here's the original Executioner gem:

4D 04 B1 C0 \\ 26 60 01 80 \\ 01 00 00 00 \\ 01 00 00 00
5E ED 01 00 \\ FF FF FF FF \\ FF FF FF FF

And this is how I changed it to the Milkweed rune:

4D 04 B1 C0 \\ 26 60 01 80 \\ 02 00 00 00 \\ 01 00 00 00
69 7C 20 00 \\ 6A 7C 20 00 \\ 6B 7C 20 00

This has placed the rune into the rune section of the inventory, and it has the correct description under the "Caryll Rune Effect" in the second panel, but the item name is "?GemName?" and "?GemInfo?". The rune can be equipped, my character is correctly transformed and the discovery bonus is applied. Can anyone spot what I am doing wrong to cause the item name to not be correctly set?

OK, I managed to fix it myself. Simply change the gem source from 26 60 01 80 to 5E 0D 03 80.

Not only that, his Kos Parasite has the glow of the moonlight sword :O. I can find and edit just about any gem, rune and item but I have NO IDEA how to do that, any brilliant ideas on how to go about it ?

does anyone know how to mod just a specific amount of gems and not all of them?
