PS4 crashing when copying from usb thumb drive

Post by Crypt Keeper » Wed Aug 16, 2017 11:54 pm

I've done a few saves earlier today. Now that I've done more saves. I'm now unable to copy from the usb thumb drive. The ps4 crashes when I try to read from the usb thumb drive.

This is highly bizarre, but try either of these: try changing the usb drive into the other usb port, it could have unfortunately fried. Alternatively clear all the files off the drive, you could have gotten a corrupt save and the ps4 is having issues with it. Other than that, I can't think of anything. I don't believe I've seen this issue before.

it said the ff15 save was messed up. so i deleted that and it still crashed. so, im gonna format the thumb drive and copy over a new save.

*edit*
ive formatted it and copied over a save and now its working again. maybe it was a different save messing it up. unless i had something on it that the ps4 was trying to read.

The XV saves in particular are rather annoying for some reason, maybe due to their size but I've had some issues with them as well. Glad to hear you got it working though.
