Indeed, looking forward to this, but even if it doesn't work I can still enjoy my Vita even without HENkaku

Sorry for double posting but I think a bump is necessary.

It was confirmed that deleting all vs0 with VitaRW will make possible boot directly into safe mode without risk of bricking the console, will this discovery affect the steps?

can someone explain to me Please
Sure, yes, that tutorial will allow you to use 3.61 cards on a 3.60 console without having to format or update.

First you need two cards, you have to format one on your 3.60 and then Install OfflineInstaller and MemCardSwap in both.

Now with the formatted card you go into IDU mode and reboot. Now you switch the cards and install HENkaku, then with VitaShell you install MemCardSwap and you clear the id.dat file of that card so it can be used in 3.60 without having to format it.

Finally you exit IDU mode and you are done. Note that you will have to do this eachtime you insert the card into a 3.61 system.

This is what I understood of the tutorial, hope it helps you.

Either way, any news about the downgrade?

i was just messing around with qcma and made some progress. here is what i did in steps:
1. download these files
https://mega.nz/#!yQVACArR!2KK4lNrsPO_g ... cCcGvknq1o
2.add the psp2updat.pup from 3.60/full/ to your qcma update folder as well as a web hosting server on your ip
3.edit your psp2-updatelist.xml so it says this:

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<update_data_list>
<region id="us">
    <np level0_system_version="01.600.000" level1_system_version="03.600.000" level2_system_version="03.600.000" map="03.600.000" />
    <np_d level0_system_version="01.600.000" level1_system_version="03.600.000" level2_system_version="03.600.000" map="03.600.000" />
    <version system_version="04.600.000" label="3.60">
      <update_data update_type="full">
        <image size="133676544">*your ip server address here*/3.60/full/PSP2UPDAT.PUP</image>
      </update_data>
    </version>
</region>
</update_data_list>
4.enable flight mode on psvita and select "system update", then select "update by connecting to a pc"
5. it will show the new version screen with "version 3.60" so go through the steps for a normal update
6. the system update will start and then go to an error stating "This system software cannot be used with this system (c1-6562-9)"

if anyone could reproduce this maybe try hex editing the update pup or something. i don't know how hex editing works though. :( i am sure however if we all band together we can get a working downgrade! :)

Oh that's very interesting, skips the whole bricking thing, I may give it a shoot

Now that I think about it, that's this tutorial http://wololo.net/2016/08/09/manually-u ... ware-3-60/, but I don't think it will work, it will only let you update to a version higher and that would mean 3.62 and up, the brick it's necessary in order to reinstall the current firmware, but I'll try regardless, perhaps if I edit it to 3.62 it will let me, but dunno if henkaku will work and who knows what will happen when the real 3.62 comes out

We did a lot of testing with the hex editor but nothing worked so far, I'm starting to doubt if OP was really able to downgrade after all, but who knows, he said he was going to redo the instructions so waiting for him it's the best we could do for now
