help psp brick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by trashes » Tue Mar 07, 2017 1:01 am

hi i have a psp 2000 which has become bricked

i used the tutorial on hackinformer.

At this point "https://hackinformer.com/PlayStationGui ... PSLIM.html" i could find my date code on behind battery so i checked the umd method and got a 5 digit code but it started with "96" thinking it was a mistake and was "9C" i selected "7C" and downloaded 6.60 lme 2.3

when i clicked on update launcher it launched it said "installation not supported on this motherboard"
but instead of going to home screen or the buttons just froze and black screen appeared

now the psp only shows black screen with green light which is continous

i dont have a pandora battery or magic stick etc.

also the psp did not have a prior cfw and then it also gave the "message" during the process so it would mean
that psp still should not have cfw. so why has it bricked?

please do help unbrick my psp 2000 thanks

Since you got that warning nothing was installed so you can't brick this way. Additionally you tried to download L-ME which can't brick a PSP that easily either.

So please give a more detailed explanation. Which datecode does it have now?

how do i find the datacode on a brick psp.

psp 2000 has no datacode behind battery (very common issue in 2000 and 3000)

and the umd datacode starts with "96" instead of a letter and number

the second from left is 100 percent "6" while it should be some letter right?

Yup you can't brick it if nothing was install like the warning said its not supported. So nothing was installed.

umd date code is when you cant find a date code behind the battery (7C, 8C etc.)
open umd drive and look at the black box beneath the usb port. there is a 5 digit combination hard to see so a light is required.
first 2 digits are date code like 7C or 8C etc but mine doesnt have a one letter-number combination. just two numbers as stated earlier.

if nothing was installed then why didnt it give me an option to return to menu or something. it just proceeded to a black screen and then froze system. i waited then restarted and then it showed the same problem as stated before (black screen with continous green light no sounds)

is it possible that maybe the cfw did try to write to flash even though it gave warning (buggy cfw) on the hackinformer download link?

btw the card is reading fine on pc and seems to have no problem

serial starts with HU223 and according to internet its maybe or not maybe hackable so again no one's sure

this website "http://www.atmaxplorer.com/2009/03/how- ... installed/" says that psps with HU2 has the TA-088v3 bad firmware

but rest of sites like youtube say below HU2160000 is good which is confusing

It probably is a TA-088v3 because the installer showed that warning..

Now if it really is bricked there is nothing you can do about it sadly. You should have checked that via the homebrew just like the guide said. But because of the warning message I really don't want to believe that.

Have you tried rebooting while holding START + SELECT + SQUARE + TRIANGLE

yes i did that.

but my question is why did it brick. cause i can only believe that the installer itself is bugged. it probably gave the warning but still continued to send files anyway. in other words the warning is NOT a safety feature, its just a message but behind the message it still writes to flash

also can i use the battery of this psp and convert it to pandora. any verified tutorial link?

also mem card is fine, any tinker which can help me jump start psp?

thanks

its the official installer that is linked and as its closed source I really don't know how it handles this..

For the battery (if it is the battery that came with the Ta-088v3) it can't be converted to Pandora and since it probably IS a Ta-088v3 you can't use Pandora at all.

Sorry man :/
