Sony Xperia Z3 Root and Recovery Tutorial

Post by 8BitBang » Sat Mar 14, 2015 12:11 am

Everything you need including root, backup your TA partition / DRM keys, recovery and all without unlocking your bootloader! If your on 4.4.4 (KitKat) want to update to 5.0.2 (Lollipop), you need to know the cons and pros. Being updated to 5.0.2 (Lollipop) you experience better overall signal and access to the LTE band. However, there is no official release of xposed installer for 5.0.2 (Lollipop) at the moment. While this can be concern to some, the benefits outweight no native xposed support. If your have already rooted 4.4.4 (KitKat) with XZDualRecovery and want to update, go to 5. Update 4.4.4 Root to 5.0.2

1. Download the latest version of Backup TA.
2. Extract the ZIP file to a folder location of your choosing.
3. Navigate to the folder location of Backup TA.
4. Make sure no other script or application which is using ADB is running.
5. Make sure the device is booted in normal mode (the way you normally use it).
6. Run Backup-TA.bat
