Yes, the system has to be activated. To do that you have to put in your PSN info when you set up the PSTV. If that hasn't been done then you need to format the PSTV and do that. If you did put your info in during setup then all you need to do to activate is download a game using vita blocker. Also,...

Ok, first off, TN-V looks identical to a PSP when you get inside it. Ark doesn't. However, Ark runs better on 3.50 bc afaik TN-V was still having problems on 3.50 but the downside to Ark is it has no sound on PS1 games. It's really up to you what you choose.
