Posted: Mon Jul 02, 2018 4:35 am
Hi guys
Just managed to install H-encore correctly and wanted to share how I did it for those having trouble. Hopefully I can write this in a way that makes it easier for noobs to get it done with out problems.
You can find The Flows read me file here for reference.....
https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/h-encore
Before I get started please remember that you have to be on FW 3.65 or 3.67/8 for this hack to work on your vita. The Flow released his work a lot sooner than the September 2018 launch date and as such only 3.65 is fully hackable with out re-launching h-encore every time the system is booted. For the FW 3.67.68 you will have to launch H-encore every time the system is rebooted. But you can leave your vita in standby mode to keep from re-launching.
The last part sux but hopefully The Flow will fix this in the future.
Step 1::: download all software
First lets get all the downloads out of the way. I find it easier to create a new folder to put the new stuff in so its all in one place and easy to find. You can name the folder anything you like. For the purpose of this tutorial we will call the folder henkaku3.65.
If you do not have QCMA installed on your California computer you can find it here. QCMA is a File transfer app that allows you to transfer content between your PC/Mac and your PS Vita. You can download this any folder then install it.
https://codestation.github.io/qcma/
Next down load the appropriate .zip of PSVIMGTools here. PSVIMGTools is a great program that allows you install applications, clone demos and unpack and pack games and demos for use with home brews. The version below is more of a command line version though.
https://github.com/yifanlu/psvimgtools/releases
Next we want to download PKG2Zip here. This will allow us to extract The Flows demo which works as the exploit to get into the system and allows the hack.
https://github.com/mmozeiko/pkg2zip/releases
Next download the bitter smile download from the readme files link. This is the software that will allow us to exploit the Firmware and install all the goodies and emulators. You will want to change the name of this file to demo.pkg.
http://ares.dl.playstation.net/cdn/JP07 ... Xfwgkq.pkg
Lastly download H-encore from github here......
https://github.com/TheOfficialFloW/h-encore/releases
Once you have all these downloaded to your folder go ahead and extract them. I use peazip but any unzip program will do.
Step 2::::
Now that we have everything downloaded and extracted lets hack this thing. Open up a command line from your henkaku3.65 folder by pressing shift and right clicking your mouse. Then choose open command line from the popup menu.
Once it's brought up type
pkg2zip -x PATH_OF_PKG or pkg2zip -x demo.pkg
This will copy some packages to your PC. This will output to your henkaku3.65 folder under app/PCSG90096
Step 3::
Copy the contents of the output app/PCSG90096 to the folder h-encore/app/ux0_temp_game_PCSG90096_app_PCSG90096 (such that the files eboot.bin and VITA_PATH.TXT are within the same folder).
Step 4::::
Copy the license file app/PCSG90096/sce_sys/package/temp.bin to the folder
h-encore/license/ux0_temp_game_PCSG90096_license_app_PCSG90096 and rename the just pasted file temp.binto 6488b73b912a753a492e2714e9b38bc7.rif. Again, this file should be in the same folder as VITA_PATH.TXT
Step 5:::
Start up QCMA then right click the task bar icon to bring up its pop up menu and choose settings. Then choose other. Make sure you have "Use this version for updates" set to FW 0.00 (Always up to date).
Step 6::::
Plug your vita to your PC and it should make a folder in your documents called PSVita. Click PSVita then click APP. There should be folder here with 16 characters. This is your vitas unique AID number that is different for every Vita.
Copy the AID and paste it in the query found here....
http://cma.henkaku.xyz
The output should be 64 characters long and is called the KEY number. Copy and paste this to a text file where it's easy to find.
Step 7:::::
Now open up the command line again by pressing shift and right licking on the H-encore folder. Now we are going to use the KEY you just got from the query page to encrypt all the folders. Type these out and press enter one at a time. Where it say your key, type the 64 character long KEY or paste it from the txt file from earlier.
psvimg-create -n app -K YOUR_KEY app PCSG90096/app
psvimg-create -n appmeta -K YOUR_KEY appmeta PCSG90096/app eat
psvimg-create -n license -K YOUR_KEY license PCSG90096/license
psvimg-create -n savedata -K YOUR_KEY savedata PCSG90096/savedata
Step 8 ::::::
Now open the H-Encore folder that resides in the he henkaku3.65 folder and open up the PCSG900096 folder. Copy the contents to your PSVita/APP/AIDnumber folder.
Step 9:::
Plug your vita back into your PC and open up content manager. Choose PSVita the app and upload H-Encore to your vita.
Step 10:::: launch it.
Congratulations you have now hacked your vita
Edit ::::
Some follow up stuff. So after installing H-Encore you will get a menu that allows you to choose to install Henkaku the vita shell and exit. You won't have to install H-Encore again but after turning the vita off and restarting it you will have to re-install vita shell and Henkaku after each time you boot it on or off.
