Soft Bans on dark souls?

I cannot even find a definitive post about whether or not console versions of Dark Souls even have an anti-cheat/anti-tampering software in place but if does can using Save Wizard proc a soft ban? If it does is there anyway to use Save Wizard without getting one? Like what cheats to avoid etc?

Edit. Just thought about it. I am not asking for opinions about cheating in co-op. Both me and my friend want to cheat together and play the game together. We are not attempting to max our stats. Just our souls. We are not ruining anyone's experience by doing so which is Save Wizards stance against online cheating as they do not want to ruin the experience of people who want a purely legit and natural gaming experience.

So is adding in items not including slabs/other weapon/armor leveling items the only way to avoid getting soft banned?

Here is what I know. If you mod your souls they can see that. I think you may bee safe otherwise. I wouldn't do Slabs but you should be ok otherwise.

They definitely ban.

Do NOT modify slabs or estus shards.

You WILL be banned, and it's permanent

Source:
I've was banned almost immediately after making those modifications, and have continued to be banned since around a year now.

Dark souls bans have always just been soft bans linked to the character the cheats were used on. Are you saying you were banned on new characters as well?

Soft bans are for minor infractions such as repeatedly disconnecting when invading and can be fixed with the white circlet. If the system flags you for something in the code that shouldn't be there (ie: to many slabs/estus shards) it outright bans the ACCOUNT. Going to the Dark Souls 3 reddit the only way to resolve this is to delete your entire save and start over with a now one and *maybe* it will unban you in about 6 months of playtime.

Every time I log in I get a message flash across my screen with the words "YOU HAVE BEEN PENALIZED" in large central letters. I deleted and tried many times to play online but the only way it lets me online is to use my second psn account. None of the characters on my banned account are allowed online and it tells you this before you even reach the "character select" screen.
