Final Fantasy VII Ps1 Version on Ps4 (Reviving Aeris)

Post by NeroTek » Mon Mar 09, 2020 2:36 am

With the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake near, finally doing this. All Codes are for Save Slot 1.

Character Modifier Codes

Code: Select all

Character 1
00000501 000000xx

Character 2
00000502 000000xx

Character 3
00000503 000000xx
Character Digits

Code: Select all

00 Cloud
01 Barret
02 Tifa
03 Aeris
04 Red XIII
05 Yuffie
06 Cait Sith
07 Vincent
08 Cid
09 Young Cloud (Can't have Cait Sith)
0A Sephiroth (Can't have Vincent)
0B Chocobo (Freeze)
FF Blank
On PS1 I was able to make Sephiroth share data with Cait Sith instead of Vincent, which as a result had to make Young Cloud share data with Yuffie instead of Cait Sith, therefore making it possible to have Sephiroth and Vincent in the same party. Hopefully I'll make this work on PS4.

*Note: I'm looking for the Global modifier to make Aeris an official member of the party so she appears on the Materia exchange screen and so she doesn't disappear when moved into the reserves. But before this happens, see below.
Also looking to flag her as removable after her death, otherwise she's stuck in the party. The offset for this needs to read 0001 for her to be unlocked. But I can't find the address for this until I know what the offset for being "locked" is.
Feel free to help with this fully functional Aeris task.

If any other requests, I'll see what I can do. Just let me know.

I have to see what all works but using advanced mode I was able to export the info and open it in a save editor for Final Fantasy 7, the editor called Black Chocobo has a bunch of features even things to alter quest progress and such.

So far all I tried was maxing out stats for characters to see if it would show on my PS4 and it did!

I wasn't aware the phs code also unlocked Aeris. But what savewizard doesn't do, is give you a way of adding Sephiroth into your active party. Which you can do with the character modifiers.
I'll have codes to modify the number of kills each character made and number of escapes soon. Used for learning limits, Vincent's Death Penalty damage, and Chocobunkle damage (for any who don't know). Just busy at the moment.

Only Vincent or Sephiroth can be active at one time. If it follows the ps1 version, setting character as Sephiroth will still have Vincent in your character roster, but putting that Vincent in your party will give you an invisible member with 0 HP. Sephiroth will never appear in your PHS screen. You need to manually add him into the party with either a character modifier or the USO menu, which wouldn't be available on ps4.

I just want to say I appreciate what you're trying to do, this is one of my favorite games ever. I try adding Vincent and it works but he is named Sephiroth so if you can accomplish what you describe doing in the past that separates the two it would be awesome.

I've done it before for the ps1 version so should be able to replicate it here. I don't like cait sith, so made him share data with sephiroth so him and Vincent could be on same team. Cait Sith became my 0 hp character named sephiroth. Once I get it working on ps4 I'll be able to replace any character with sephiroth.
A side effect is sephiroth and Vincent will share all the same stats and equipment and name still. But you'll be able to have both models in battle at once at the cost of another character. And you'll still only be able to add sephiroth to the party with a character modifier. It might take awhile to get this working on ps4 though.
