Don't want to upgrade my 3ds console into ver9.0.0-20

I would like to play games with my friends on my 3ds console.However I don't know how to keep my console from automatically upgrading into 3ds v9.0.0-20 with wifi on.I use r4i gold 3ds deluxe card from a very nice online store:http://www.r4igold3ds.co.uk/r4i-gold-3d ... -c-16.html.
